We dreamt of travelling as much of the world for as long as possible.
That night, we lay awake until dawn fantasising about our trip, and the next morning, once reality set in, we decided that dreaming about travel wasn’t enough - we had to actually do it.
The question was not about ‘if and how’, but ‘when’. To answer to ‘when’, we had to put a price tag on our dream, and plan. Planning was exciting as expected.
Once our plans began to take shape, saving, although fuelled from sacrifices, was rewarding - every Rupee saved meant an additional Rupee to spend in another country.
In December ‘13, 9 months later, we had saved the amount we had in mind, quit our jobs, and shifted all our unsold stuff to our hometown in Bareilly, where we spent Christmas with our families.
January 2nd ’14: the beginning of our travel …
